This page explains, in plain language, how enquiry information is handled, what the website measures and what it does not collect through analytics.
Who runs this website
This website is run by Howmin, an independent BYD sales advisor at the IOI Puchong and Balakong showrooms. It is not the official BYD Malaysia or Sime Motors website. You can read more about Howmin here.
When you submit an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, mobile number, interested model, enquiry type and preferred showroom. You may also provide your purchase timing and a question or request. The form may include the page, button location, model, variant or estimate that brought you to the form so the enquiry can be understood without asking you to enter the same details again.
This information is used only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a test drive, provide requested vehicle or financing information, or assist with a trade-in request. Submitting the form does not add you to an advertising mailing list.
How enquiry information is processed
Form submissions are processed by Formspree, which sends the enquiry to the website operator and may retain a submission history according to the selected Formspree plan. Formspree is a third-party service and may process information outside Malaysia under its own privacy terms.
Enquiry notifications may remain in the receiving email account while the request is being handled or where a record is reasonably needed for follow-up. You may ask to access, correct or delete enquiry information by contacting Howmin using the details at the end of this page.
Why anything is measured at all
To see which pages bring visitors to the site, which buttons lead to the enquiry form and whether the form was submitted successfully. This helps decide which guides, model pages and enquiry paths are worth improving.
What analytics may collect, once you accept
- The page you visited
- The general traffic source, such as a Google search or a direct visit
- Your device and browser category, such as mobile or desktop
- A safe classification of the button clicked, such as “floating” or “hero”
- The model or guide the page belongs to
- Whether an enquiry-form button was clicked
- Whether the enquiry form returned a successful submission result
- Whether a fallback WhatsApp button was clicked
What analytics never collects
Google Analytics and the website's click tracking do not receive any of the following:
- The content of your WhatsApp message
- Whether you actually sent that message
- Your phone number, name or email address
- Anything entered in the enquiry form
- Anything you type into the loan or insurance calculator
- Your income or existing commitments
- Your estimated on-the-road price, monthly installment or DSR
- The complete WhatsApp link, including its pre-filled message
The figures produced by the calculator on a model page stay in your browser. They may be carried to the enquiry form so you do not need to enter the estimate again. They are never read or recorded by this website's analytics.
An important limit worth stating
This website can record that an enquiry button was clicked and that Formspree confirmed a successful submission. It cannot know whether an enquiry later becomes a showroom visit or vehicle purchase. If a fallback WhatsApp link is used, the website cannot know whether the message was sent.
Google Analytics
Analytics on this site is optional. Nothing is loaded and no analytics cookie is set
unless you choose “Accept analytics”. If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics,
which sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by
an identifier, to count visits. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are
switched off. There is no advertising, no remarketing, no session recording and no
heatmap tracking on this site.
You can read Google's privacy policy or install Google's browser opt-out add-on. Your browser settings can also block or clear these cookies at any time.
Your choice
You can accept or decline optional analytics. Declining does not prevent you from viewing pages, using calculators, opening the enquiry form, submitting an enquiry or using the WhatsApp fallback. Your analytics choice is remembered in your own browser, not in a cookie, and you can change it whenever you like. The enquiry form has a separate privacy acknowledgement because it sends the information you choose to enter.
