This page explains, in plain language, what this website measures and what it does not. It is short on purpose.
Who runs this website
This website is run by Howmin, an independent BYD sales advisor at the IOI Puchong and Balakong showrooms. It is not the official BYD Malaysia or Sime Motors website. You can read more about Howmin here.
Why anything is measured at all
To see which pages bring visitors to the site, and which pages and buttons lead visitors to open WhatsApp. That is the whole purpose. It helps decide which guides and model pages are worth writing and improving.
What may be collected, once you accept
- The page you visited
- The general traffic source, such as a Google search or a direct visit
- Your device and browser category, such as mobile or desktop
- A safe classification of the button clicked, such as “floating” or “hero”
- The model or guide the page belongs to
- Whether a WhatsApp button was clicked
What is never collected
This site's tracking does not collect any of the following:
- The content of your WhatsApp message
- Whether you actually sent that message
- Your phone number
- Your name or email address
- Anything you type into the loan or insurance calculator
- Your income or existing commitments
- Your estimated on-the-road price, monthly installment or DSR
- The complete WhatsApp link, including its pre-filled message
The figures produced by the calculator on a model page stay in your browser. They are placed into the WhatsApp message so you can send them to Howmin if you choose to, and they are never read or recorded by this website's analytics.
An important limit worth stating
This website can record that a WhatsApp button was clicked. It cannot know whether you went on to send the message. Once WhatsApp opens, the website has no visibility at all. A click means somebody was interested. It does not mean a message arrived.
Google Analytics
Analytics on this site is optional. Nothing is loaded and no analytics cookie is set
unless you choose “Accept analytics”. If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics,
which sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by
an identifier, to count visits. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are
switched off. There is no advertising, no remarketing, no session recording and no
heatmap tracking on this site.
You can read Google's privacy policy or install Google's browser opt-out add-on. Your browser settings can also block or clear these cookies at any time.
Your choice
You can accept or decline. Declining changes nothing about how the website works — every page, link and WhatsApp button behaves exactly the same either way. Your choice is remembered in your own browser, not in a cookie, and you can change it whenever you like.
